FilAm Creative TV Creator Lab
ABOUT
The FilAm Creative TV Creator Lab is a selective professional development program created to support creators developing original scripted series.
Our mission is to champion authentic storytelling by helping creators strengthen their projects, build meaningful industry relationships, and prepare for the next stage of their careers.
Over the course of the program, participants will work alongside a small cohort of fellow creators to refine their television pilots and series bibles through workshops, assignments, and conversations with accomplished professionals working in television today.
By the conclusion of the Lab, participants will have a stronger, more polished television package and greater confidence pitching their series to the industry.

Eligibility
Applicants must satisfy one of the following:
Be of Filipino heritage; or
Be any ethnicity, provided the submitted series prominently features Filipino lead characters and meaningfully contributes to authentic Filipino representation.
We do not require that everyone be Filipino. We welcome diversity and inclusion, applicants from all backgrounds.
Filipino Heritage includes members of the global Filipino diaspora, including individuals from the Philippines and those of Filipino descent living around the world (such a Filipino-American, Filipino-Canadian, Filipino-British, etc)
Writers at all career stages are welcome to apply.
The Lab welcomes projects of every genre and subject matter, provided they are narratives, not documentaries.
Filipino applicants are encouraged to submit the original television series they are most passionate about, regardless of whether the story centers on Filipino characters or themes. Likewise, creators of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply if their submitted project meaningfully expands Filipino representation on screen.
Writing partners are welcome to apply as teams.
International applicants are welcome to apply.
APPLICATION
The FilAm Creative TV Creator Lab is designed for creators who have already written (or substantially completed) an original television pilot and are ready to take their project to the next level. Whether you are an emerging writer, an independent filmmaker transitioning into television, or an experienced storyteller developing your next series, the Lab is designed to help strengthen your project through feedback, revision, and professional development.
Applicants must submit:
Resume
Personal Statement explaining why they wish to participate in the Lab and how the program will benefit their creative journey
Original television pilot
Series bible or a series description document that includes logline, series synopsis, describing the arc of the whole show, genre, world, premise, primary characters.
Project status and history (have you attached others, has the project been through other labs, have you tried pitching it yet, etc)
Signed submission agreement
Application fee is $25. Participation in the Lab is free for all selected creators.
What Selected Creators Can Expect
Participants should expect to dedicate several hours each week to attending workshops, completing assignments, revising their materials, and providing thoughtful feedback on fellow cohort members' work.

CREATOR WELCOME RECEPTION

Advanced Worshops & Pitch Preparation
October 1, 2026
An in-person reception in Los Angeles where creators will meet one another, celebrate the inaugural cohort, and hear words of wisdom from industry professionals.

Workshop Sessions
4
October 12, 2026 - November 6, 2026 (4 weeks)
Weekly virtual workshops focused on developing each participant's television series.
November 7, 2026 - January 10, 2027
Creators will continue revising their projects independently, applying the feedback and techniques developed during the first half of the Lab. We will not have weekly meetings during this time.
January 11, 2027 - February 5, 2027 (4 weeks)
Participants return for advanced workshops focused on refining their materials and preparing professional television pitches.
Program Goals
By the end of the Lab, each creator should have:
· A revised television pilot
· A revised series bible
· A stronger understanding of television development
· A refined verbal and written pitch
· Lasting relationships with fellow creators
While FilAm Creative is committed to supporting participants and creating meaningful industry connections whenever possible (such as inviting guest speakers), participation in the Lab does not guarantee representation, employment, financing, production, or distribution.
Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed by a panel of industry professionals and FilAm Creative representatives.
Selection is based on the originality of the project, quality of the writing, strength of the applicant's creative vision. Because the Lab is designed as an intensive workshop, only a limited number of creators will be selected.
